## Now Hiring: Veterinarian of Record (Part-Time)
**Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter (FMAS) | Manchester, NH**
**$90/hour to start, increasing to $100/hour after two months**
**Part-time, 2 to 3 days per week | Flexible, mutually agreed schedule**
Are you a veterinarian who wants your skills to change lives every single day? FMAS is looking for a Veterinarian of Record to lead medical care for the homeless, abandoned, and surrendered animals who come through our doors. You'll have real ownership of our medical program, a dedicated team behind you, and a schedule that fits your life.
### What You'll Do
- Lead the medical care of every animal at the shelter: exams, vaccinations, parasite control, diagnosis, and treatment
- Perform spay/neuter and other surgeries as needed
- Prescribe and administer medications, and oversee the safe handling and storage of controlled substances
- Build and maintain shelter medical protocols that meet New Hampshire Department of Agriculture requirements
- Keep accurate, detailed medical records
- Train and mentor our veterinary technicians and animal care staff
- Serve as our point person with outside specialists and labs
- Advise on zoonotic disease prevention, biosecurity, and public health
- Partner with our team on case reviews and adoption decisions
### What You Bring
- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
- Current New Hampshire veterinary license in good standing (required)
- Current DEA registration (required)
- USDA Accreditation (Category I or II) preferred
- Shelter medicine or high-volume spay/neuter experience a plus
- Strong diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills
- A deep commitment to the humane and ethical treatment of animals
