We are seeking a well-rounded Veterinarian who is ready to take their career to the next level as a Veterinary Medical Director in the Greensboro/Triad area of North Carolina! As Medical Director, you will help develop and maintain a high-quality, efficient, and effective medical team by fostering an environment built on trust, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning. We are looking for someone who leads by example, encourages collaboration across all departments, and is passionate about exceptional patient care, client education, and delivering outstanding service to our loyal clientele.
The Medical Director will work closely alongside the Hospital Manager and report directly to the Vice President of Operations while indirectly supporting organizational initiatives with the Chief Executive Officer.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategic Focus
- Mentor and support DVMs while promoting professional growth and accountability
- Help build an understanding of how medical and operational behaviors impact hospital performance
- Provide coaching and feedback regarding weekly and monthly production goals
- Partner with leadership to ensure schedules meet the needs of the hospital
- Assist with DVM staffing initiatives when needed
- Work collaboratively with the Hospital Manager to establish priorities and operational expectations
- Participate in operational meetings and leadership conference calls
- Foster open communication through regular one-on-one meetings with DVM and technician staff
- Provide stability, direction, and positive leadership within the hospital
Clinical & Operational Responsibilities
- Continue practicing as a veterinarian while leading the medical team
- Monitor hospital flow, case management, and medical protocols to ensure the highest standards of care
- Attend daily rounds when possible and support medical decision-making across the team
- Assist in resolving escalated client concerns when appropriate
- Evaluate new products, services, and medical protocols
- Collaborate with leadership on inventory, payroll, and other controllable medical-related costs
- Participate in technician and assistant development and performance reviews
- Remain available as a resource for questions regarding hospital operations and patient care
- Participate in ongoing leadership and practice management training opportunities
