Description
Monocacy Equine Veterinary Associates is looking for their next associate vet. We are a progressive practice in central Maryland that firmly believes in boundaries and work life balance. We practice high quality general medicine with a heavy emphasis on sports medicine. We also have a unique rescue population that leads to a significant amount of endoscopy work and lots of field surgeries like enucleations that allows for a low pressure environment for learning while still getting appropriately compensated.
We take client boundaries seriously and stand behind our veterinarians. Everyone is supplied with a work cell phone and also a cloud number that can be handed out only at their discretion. Firm rules about not handing out personal numbers to any client. That being said between all the veterinarians you will always receive help in an emergency if back up is needed we are very responsive to each other and like to collaborate. Recently we've done a cervical facet wetlab. I love mentoring especially in sports medicine. If you want to try something new I'm usually always game to be your wing woman.
We are open to a new graduate as a junior associate with heavy mentorship. There would be plans to move to full associate within 6-12 months. Think of this like an internship with better pay and a less demanding schedule. We will not leave you unable to afford your life or run you into the ground. You will experience the same 4 day work week and time off as our regular associates.
Of course we are also open to a more experienced applicant and would be willing to offer flexible schedules beyond what is listed to fit different life circumstances.
