Description
Veterinarian – Emergency / Urgent Care
Omnivet | Northern Michigan
Some veterinarians are looking for a job.
Others are looking for a place to build something meaningful.
At Omnivet, we are seeking a veterinarian who is excited by emergency medicine, urgent care, surgery, and the opportunity to practice progressive medicine in a modern, fast-growing hospital environment.
This is not a traditional associate role.
This is an opportunity for a smart, motivated, growth-oriented veterinarian to join a hospital that is intentionally redefining what veterinary medicine can feel like for patients, pet parents, and the veterinary team.
Who We Are
Omnivet is a progressive veterinary urgent care, emergency, and specialty care practice serving Northern Michigan. We were built around a simple but powerful belief: veterinary medicine can deliver exceptional medical care without losing the human connection.
We believe pet parents deserve transparency, education, and partnership in decision-making.
We believe veterinary teams deserve workplaces that support excellence, growth, collaboration, and longevity in the profession.
We believe innovation should improve medicine, not complicate it.
Our culture values
High medical standards
Compassionate, relationship-centered care
Clear communication and transparency
Collaboration over ego
Continuous learning and growth
Innovation and forward thinking
Work environments designed for sustainability, not burnout
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a veterinarian who:
Has a strong interest in emergency medicine, urgent care, and surgery
Is confident managing urgent and emergent medical cases (or highly motivated to grow into that role)
Enjoys fast-paced, problem-solving medicine
Thrives making decisions with incomplete information while maintaining excellent clinical judgment
Communicates confidently and compassionately with clients
Wants meaningful autonomy while still being part of a collaborative team
Is growth-minded, curious, and coachable
Wants to build skills not coast
Is energized by helping shape a growing practice
This role may be especially appealing to:
Early-career veterinarians with strong aspirations
Veterinarians seeking to transition into emergency/urgent care
Growth-minded clinicians wanting advanced case exposure
Doctors who enjoy surgery and procedural medicine
What You’ll Do
Depending on experience and interests, responsibilities may include:
Managing urgent and emergency canine/feline (an the occasional exotic) cases
Stabilization and critical case triage
Soft tissue surgery
Wound management and trauma care
Diagnostic workups and case management
Client communication and treatment planning
Collaborative case discussion with teammates
Helping refine workflows, protocols, and systems as we grow
Why This Role Is Different
Many veterinary roles promise mentorship, autonomy, or growth.
Few genuinely offer the chance to help shape the future direction of a hospital.
At Omnivet, the right veterinarian will have the opportunity to:
Rapidly expand emergency and surgical competency
Practice progressive, high-quality medicine
Build strong client relationships
Contribute ideas that actually get implemented
Be part of a hospital still agile enough to innovate
Grow into leadership opportunities over time
If you’re the type of doctor who sees possibility where others see “the way it’s always been done,” you may fit exceptionally well here.
