Description
Who it’s for: Primarily 3rd–4th-year veterinary students seeking hands-on clinical experience before graduation. Offered year-round for 1–2 weeks. Usually one extern at a time to maximize individualized learning.
What You’ll Do:
Shadow veterinarians across general and specialty medicine.
Participate in clinical activities such as diagnostics, case discussions, developing problem lists, and assisting with procedures.
Possible involvement in surgery, advanced diagnostics (like ultrasound), and specialized cases (holistic, internal, exotic, reproductive, emergency).
Exposure to client communication, practice management, and professional challenges.
Learning Goals: Ease transition from academic to clinical practice.
Deepen understanding of veterinary workflows, ethics, team dynamics, and client relations.
Housing is avaialble : Might be available depending on the time of year.
